The Netherlands is like a second home to me. My friends are probably thinking, 'here we go again, she's talking about The Netherlands again....'.
Aalten is a village in the eastern Netherlands. It's very different with Amsterdam since Amsterdam is the 'big' city while Aalten is the 'village'. But anyways, I think Aalten is a good place to live. It's not really crowded, yet it's also not too quiet. The houses in Amsterdam were different, with the houses in Aalten. The houses in Aalten are much bigger (but some are also small), while the houses in Amsterdam are mostly apartments and smaller.
Aalten is very close to Germany. When I stayed in Aalten, I usually stayed in my mother's host family's house. And when I sit in the living room, I can see the windmills that were placed in Germany. Me and my 'oma' as I call her, usually shops for groceris in a town in Germany, Bocholt. Mostly people there uses bicycle as their main transportation.
